It was not until I became an emergency medical technician that I began to hear from doctors how critical a role the mind plays in recovery—or non-recovery. Several critical care doctors have told me that their patients who have a will to survive, who fight mentally, make remarkable recoveries while others who give up simply die.
The mind does affect the body, and psychosomatic illnesses are well known. If changing your thinking can affect your body, what can it do for your career or your marriage? What can it do for your constant indebtedness or your maxed out credit cards; for your spiritual life; your hand-to-mouth existence?
The more you think about affliction, sickness and disease, the worse it will become. The more you think of yourself as healthy and vivacious, the more you will achieve it, for what you think upon grows, magnifying itself in your life. The same principle applies to your finances.
The more you dwell mentally upon poverty, hard times and difficult circumstances, the more these things manifest themselves in your life. On the other hand by focusing on prosperity and abundance, you can move yourself from “rags to riches”.
